Hi and welcome to the Phunk Lab shop policies. As I'm usually working on a few portraits at any given time I've come up with a few basic policies that will make my life a little easier and free up time to spend making sure your portrait totally rocks. I'll also cover some frequently asked questions here too.

Returns & exchanges

See item details for return and exchange eligibility.

Payment

Before I start on the design I take a $50 deposit. Your first set of proofs will then be available usually a week later (but sometimes sooner or later depending on my work load). Once you have your first set of proofs you have one week to request any changes and pay the balance. This is basically so I'm not chained to the computer 52 weeks a year. If you need more time though just let me know and we'll work something out. I'm super friendly, I promise!

Shipping

Once you pay the balance I sent the artwork off to the printer within 24 hours. I use different printers depending on where you are so you can be assured you're not paying more than you have to or waiting for an eternity for it to arrive.

In the US rolled canvases (shipped in a tube) usually get to you in a week or so from the time you pay the balance. Gallery wrapped canvases (which are stretched over a frame and arrive ready to hang) usually get to you within 2 weeks from when you pay the balance.

US orders: tracking number are supplied and shipping is insured.

Expedited shipping is available on request.

International shipping is available on request. You name the location and I'll find out how much it will cost to ship.

Additional policies and FAQs

FAQ's that might not have been covered elsewhere..

-----------------------------
How does it work?

-Purchase a design deposit and email me your photo along with any text you want in the background (if applicable) and the size and canvas option you want.
-I will then email you with any questions and updates as I do the artwork and send you some proofs usually within a week.
-I can then make any changes to the proof you like best and once you are happy with a final proof you can pay the balance and your image is then printed and dispatched to you.

-----------------------------

How do I supply the photo?

Email the photo to fleur[at]phunklab.com.au

-----------------------------
What is the difference between rolled and gallery wrapped canvas?

Rolled canvases arrive in a tube so that you can arrange framing or stretching as you like and gallery wrapped canvases are stretched over a wooden frame with string attached to the back so it arrives ready to hang.

-----------------------------
Do you do any more sizes?

If you're after a specific size let me know what you want and which country you are in and I will send you a quote if it's available. In the US I can only supply gallery wrapped canvases up to 20 x 24 inches due to the fragile nature and expense of shipping larger canvases.
-----------------------------

What sort of photo should I send to you?

Choosing the right image for your canvas print is the most important part of the whole process. Follow the guidelines below to help you in your selection.

The ideal photo has the following characteristics:

-Either a high resolution or clear close up of the subject(s) are very important if you want a detailed portrait.
-Character and contrast. Shots of the subject being emotive always deliver great results as do ones where there is interesting or detailed contrast (ie patterned clothing, glasses, hats etc)
-Make sure the photo is not under exposed (too dark) or over exposed (too bright or too white).
However, you don't have to worry about things like cluttered backgrounds or red eyes, I can fix that. Feel free to send a selection of pictures that you like and I can help you pick one that will work the best.
-----------------------------

What is a canvas print?

Phunk Lab canvas prints take your newly created artwork and print it directly onto artist grade cotton canvas using the latest large format printers. The ink penetrates into the canvas so that the texture of the canvas is still visible. The canvas is then laminated with a very thin protective layer that seals in the colours and provides a professional, sharp finish. Finally, if you choose a gallery wrapped canvas it is carefully wrapped around a wooden stretcher frame ready for hanging directly on your wall.

Rolled canvases are printed with an extra 1.5 inch border and carefully rolled up and sent to you in a tube so you can organise framing or stretching as you like.
-----------------------------

Can I request changes after I have received my proofs?

Yes. I want you to be 100% happy with your print when it arrives so you can request up to four changes to one of your proofs at no extra cost, such as rearranging colours, artwork tweaks etc. If you still need more changes after that it will be an extra $10 per change which will be added to the balance (99% of customers have no more than 1 or 2 changes so you're only likely have to worry about this if you have OCD or multiple personalty disorder)
-----------------------------

Can I choose a certain colour scheme or do you pick the colours for me?

If there are certain colours you want to work with feel free to let me know, otherwise leave it to me and I will create a few choices for you. You will receive a preview of the design via email before it goes to print, to make sure you are satisfied with the colours. You can ask to modify the colours so you are totally satisfied.
-----------------------------

My picture is not in a digital format. What can I do?

You can scan your photo (minimum 150 dpi - 300 dpi is best) and save in JPEG format then email it to me.
